YO/E

A personal project for a couple, Yolande & Eric.
This was a custom design we made according to their wishes.

They are both very different people.
Over the span of 54 years they’ve formed each other into one beautifulLY functioning structure.
They’ve made their mis-fits fitting to thEir unity.

YO/E represents the two of them.
Their personalities, their color and the feel of their character embody this design.

The warmth and life of the wood, its grooves and solid body.
The smoothness and elegaNce express the calmth of YOlande.

The sturdiness of the stone, unmovable and trustworthy.
The sharp corner brinGing clarity. Straight to the point full of energy. This is Eric.

These two form the design.

The piece incarnates their relationship.
They both need each other for balance and stability. But they also fulfill a function of their own.

As one aswell as individually they layer these shelves.

They give and get the place needed for the design to work.

A symbiosis of the two, without losing themselves in it.
